Audiovox Adds MP3 Player to CES Lineup

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Audiovox continued its product introductions today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with the introduction of a Mac-compatible MP3 player. The MP1055HD is a 5 gigabyte music player with a built-in FM radio tuner, voice recorder, and built-in EQ.

The device features an 8-line LCD display, and 16 hour battery life with a Lithium Polymer battery. Accessories include ear buds, a USB cable, a software CD, and a power adapter, and the unit is compatible with several versions of Windows, as well as both Classic Mac OS (9.0 and above), and Mac OS X. The company did not specify which versions of Mac OS X are specified, and Audiovox spokespersons were not immediately available to clarify.

Earlier this week, Audiovox introduced a universal iPod adapter for car stereos with CD changer ports.

The MP1055HD is priced at US$249. As of this writing, Audiovox has not added information about the new device to its Web site.
