For those of you that follow what it is that we say on even a limited basis, you will know that I am all kinds of bummed out that OS X Beta has not yet shipped. I know, summer isnit over yet. Donit worry, it will not ship by the magical September 22nd date that everybody keeps waving in my face. Then Iill be right. In the meantime here is a fairly educated, and unfortunately probably too realistic, look at what to expect from Apple over the next few months. Our favorite quote in this piece:We can safely expect MacWorld San Francisco to be an absolutely killer expo, as it often is. If timings continue to converge we can look forward to hearing all sorts of fantastic announcements in January 2001: G4 PowerBooks, OS X Beta, revved iBooks, Mac OS 9.5, and perhaps more.

This is absolutely perfect. Perfect, we say. What better way to advertise than to actually NAME somebody after your organization? Have them elected president, I guess. Either way, a couple has named their baby - you ready for this - Internet Underground Music Archive Dylan-Lucas. Not making that up. The web site gave the couple US$5000 to do so. However, as a good will gesture, the kid can be calle IUMA Dylan-Lucas. Uhhh...whatever. Our favorite quote from this piece:The youngster is the fourth Iuma baby, according to the underground music groupis Website, which brandishes the competition for parents to name their offspring after the venture.
All they have to do is put a picture of the baby and copy of its birth certificate onto the site. The first ten are promised either $5,000 (?3,000) cash or free Iuma music, downloads, CDs, concerts and merchandise for life. .
