Blackmagic Releases Workgroup Videohub With Both SDI And HD Support

Blackmagic Design is shipping a new device for Mac users, the Workgroup Videohub. The Workgroup Videohub is a video routing switcher designed for cable patching televisions, monitors, and peripheral devices together. The hub features support for both HD and SDI video signals and includes integrated RS-422 serial control ports. According to Blackmagic Design:

Today Blackmagic Design announced Workgroup Videohub?, a professional routing switcher, that features low cost, dual rate HD and SD compatibility, and ease of setup and use.

Workgroup Videohub? eliminates manual cable patching by connecting everyone together into a fully featured professional routing switcher, which previously only large television companies could afford.

Workgroup Videohub? has 12 fully independent dual rate SDI inputs and 24 independent SDI outputs that auto-switch between HD-SDI and Standard Definition SDI. 12 of the Workgroup Videohubis outputs are dedicated for monitoring, or to connect consumer VHS and DVD recorder dubbing decks via analog converters such as DeckLink Multibridge?.

Compatibility with all SDI based equipment is assured and all inputs and outputs are compliant with SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 296M, SMPTE 372M and ITU-R BT.656.
