CNBC Features PowerBook G4, Touts Apple

CNBC just broadcast a report on the Titanium PowerBook G4 that largely mirrors the report put out by C|Net yesterday afternoon. The report said that Appleis laptop sales were a bright spot in and otherwise bleak portable market. CNBC is a financial network, and their coverage included the aspect of how these PowerBook sales would impact Appleis bottom line, similar to the angle we took in our Spin from this morning.

What is particularly interesting is that the report took on the tone that Apple has largely recovered, and that once OS X is included on the PowerBook G4, it will be even better. Furthermore, the reporter, whose name we did not catch, actually had a PowerBook G4 for use in the story. She was a ThinkPad user, so we can assume it was provided by Apple at some point. At the end of the report she held up the notebook, touted its screen, titanium casing, weight, and features. The unit was then handled by the CNBC anchors who asked if they could keep it.

Apple closed lower today at 22.07, down 0.46 (-2.04%). A complete report on todayis stock market is coming this afteroon.
