Check Account Quotas in Mail

Like so many other applications, Appleis Mail in Tiger has some hidden features just waiting to be discovered. For instance, you can check your .Mac and other IMAP email account mailbox quotas. Hereis how:

Select Get Info from Mailis Action button to open the Account Info window.
    - Click Mailis gear-shaped Action button and select Get Info. The Action button is at the bottom of the Mail window, right below your Mail Box list.
    - If Mail checks more than one email account for you, select the account you want to check from the Account pop-up menu in the Account Info window.

The Account Info window shows you how close you are to your mail box limit, so you know when itis time to clear out extra messages. If you go over your limit, new incoming emails will bounce back to the sender instead of showing up as a new message for you.

The Account Info window shows your mail box quota, and any messages still on the email server.

The Account Info window is handy for POP email accounts, too. It shows all of the messages that are still on your email server, which is handy if you have a stubborn message that you canit seem to delete, or a corrupt message that wonit properly download to your Mac. Just highlight it in the email list, and then click the Remove From Server button.
