Classic Toggler Gets Update

Northern Softworks has released an update for Classic Toggler, bringing it to version 1.3. Classic Toggler is an OS switching app designed for OS X to OS 9 environments. The latest version features Classic Toggle Routing amd improved user handling. According to Northern Softworks:

Northern Softworks today announced the release of version 1.3 of Classic Toggler, its shareware Classic environment utility for Mac OS X.

What is Classic Toggler?

In the Mac OS X Public Beta, the Dock had a visual indication of the Classic environment, and a means to control it. This was removed in the final releases of Mac OS X. Classic Toggler is a small application that provides a convenient means to launch and quit classic.

It provides a Dock icon and menu to provide the status of classic and a means to turn it on and off. It can be automated to run whenever classic loads. Classic Toggler also provides easy access to key applications and folders within the active classic system folder.

Whatis new in Classic Toggler 1.3:

  • This release adds file routing capabilities to Classic Toggle
  • Items dropped on the application automatically get routed to the appropriate folder with in the active classic System folder
  • Classic Toggler also has improved Desktop handling features including the ability to create aliases to the classic OS 9 desktop
