Aquafadas on Wednesday released version 1.4 of iDive, the companyis "digital video shoebox" application for importing, cataloging and organizing video files. The major change in this update is iDiveis ability to import any QuickTime video format and to catalog iMovie projects.
Other improvements include new presets for compression, as well as more control and flexibility over clip compression, and a modified interface. iDive 1.4 has a new source window with more details, new menus and sorting capabilities and redesigned icons. There are also new Trash, Last Import and All Libraries nodes.
This is a free update for registered users. The full software is US$69.95, or $49.95 for academic licenses. Volume discounts are available.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9, QuickTime 7, 256MB RAM and 25MB hard drive space. Aquafadas recommends allotting 20MB to 120MB of hard drive space for each hour of digital video.
