Prosoft Engineering has released an update for Data Backup X and Classic, bringing it to version 1.2.2. Data Backup is a utility designed for file backup and syching. The update adds Automatic Triggering for automated backup and expanded program actions. According to Prosoft Engineering:
Prosoft Engineering, makers of professional-grade software for the rest of us, announces significant upgrades and added features to Data Backup X and Data Backup Classic. Data Backup X version 1.2.2 and Data Backup Classic version 1.2.2 are now available for Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x.
Data Backup provides the ability to backup, restore and synchronize your valuable data with minimal effort. When an activity, such as a backup, is needed on a regular basis it can be scheduled by using Data Backupis Programmed Actions Mode. Programmed Actions can be created as needed with Data Backup and settings and schedules are saved for each action.
The new version of Data Backup, an easy to use backup utility, automates the process of backing up important files where now the application will automatically launch for each programmed action when Automatic Triggering is enabled, eliminating the need to have Data Backup continuously running (in OS X).
Additional features within the programmed actions mode include Direct Copy and Delete actions, backup with encryption, and the ability organize programmed actions into groups.
Users have four new trigger options when setting up their programmed actions including performing a backup at every startup, every shut down, as soon as volumes mount or continuously in the new permanent mode.
You can find more information about the Data Backup update at the Prosoft Engineering Web site. Data Backup is available for US$49.00.
