Design Greeting Cards in iPhoto

Finding the right greeting or invitation card can be a real pain, especially when you have a good idea of what you want - Store-bought cards are never exactly right. With a little help from iPhoto, however, you can whip up just what you want in no time.

  • Start by selecting a picture from your iPhoto library, and make any edits you need. The picture I chose had a building near the bottom, so I cropped that part out. When you are finished, click the Done button.

  • Edit your image before using it in a card.
  • Now click the Card button and choose a template. Since we arenit making a postcard, be sure to select Greeting Card from the pop-up menu.

  • Choose a theme for your card.
  • Once you select a theme, iPhoto lets you add your text. You can also choose a different theme, background, or text style from the buttons at the bottom of the window.

  • iPhoto lets you edit most everything on your card.
  • After you finish creating your card, click the Buy Card button.
  • Choose how many cards you want from the Order Card window. Iim ordering 5x7 cards - they cost $1.99 each and include envelopes.

You can choose how many cards to order.

Designing your own cards is a great way to add a personal touch to your correspondence, invitations, or any other occasion that warrants a card. And donit feel limited to using the digital photos in your iPhoto library. If you created the perfect graphic in Photoshop, GraphicConverter, or any other image editing application, import your work of art into iPhoto so that you can use it in your card.
