Digital Cam For Visor Handhelds Now Shipping

Targus Inc., is now shipping a hand held digital camera, HandCam for use with Handspring Visor hand held computers. HandCam is designed to allow users the ability to capture images to their hand held computers. Image resolution is 640x480 and connects to the Springboard external expansion slot. According to Targus:

Targus Inc. today introduced the newest addition to its line of handheld computing accessories - the Targus HandCam(tm) Springboard(tm) digital camera for the Handspring(tm) Visor(tm). With direct, plug-in connectivity to the Visor handheld computer, the HandCam makes capturing and downloading digital photos and video a snap.

Weighing only 1.4 ounces, this lightweight digital camera module easily connects to all Visor models via the Springboard external expansion slot. The Targus HandCam features 640 x 480 resolution and a swivel base for image capture from many angles. Included with the HandCam is a clip-on dock with a USB connection that can attach the HandCam to the edge of an open notebook or other stationary object. This dock allows the users to employ the HandCam as a stand-alone web cam or still image camera.

Additional features include wireless IR image transfer to and from a PDA and computer, 24-Bit True Color digital image capture and two megabytes of on-board memory. The Targus HandCam comes bundled with Arcsoft Photo Impression 3.0.
