Electric Butterfly announced a major upgrade to its media viewer application, Stimulus, on Wednesday. Enhancements include a redesigned interface with a fast thumbnail viewer, improved speed, support for new media formats such as Windows Media and DV, and conversion to a Universal Application.
Stimulus is an application designed to easily access and manipulate digital content without first importing files into a proprietary photo album and catalog format. According to Electric Butterfly, Stimulus works "intuitively like a file browser, allowing you to select and view/play all of your favorite images, audio files, and video clips from where they reside on your hard drive. Rename, move, and delete files to organize your digital life."
Standard features include support for 28 file formats, integrated search, bookmarks, a slideshow, customized audio, and a properties viewer.
Stimulus is priced at US$19.95. Version 4.1 is a free upgrade for all registered users.
