Feral Announces Fable: The Lost Chapters Game For the Mac

Feral Interactive on Thursday announced that later this year it will publish Lionhead Studiosi Fable: The Lost Chapters for the Mac. The role-playing game was released for Xbox last year and is also currently in development for the Windows XP operating system. Feral said in a statement that the title represents "a significant strengthening" of its relationship with Lionhead, which could enable more of the developeris games to come to the Mac. Feral published Lionheadis Black & White, as well as the Creature Isle expansion pack, for the Mac in 2002.

Fable: The Lost Chapters is a fantasy game set in a world called Albion, where the playeris character begins his adventures as a child but eventually visits the Heroes Guild to receive the training needed to undertake quests and missions. The characteris actions in the game determine his status as a good or evil person and dictate how non-player characters act toward him. Feral said that the Mac and Windows versions of Fable will include more content and customization features than the Xbox edition, as well as better graphics.

Feral has not yet revealed a ship date, pricing nor system requirements for the game, although the official Fable: The Lost Chapters Web site cites a US$49.95 price tag for the Windows version, with a fall 2005 release date. A Feral representative contacted by The Mac Observer declined to say whether the Mac version will ship simultaneously with the Windows edition.
