FireWire Depot Adds G-Technology Drives to Line Up

F ireWire Depot has started selling G-Technologyis line of FireWire storage products as well as iPod accessories from Dr. Bott.

G-Technologyis line of G-RAID and G-Drive products feature attractive aluminum enclosures and 7200-rpm drives. The G-RAID is available in three configurations: 320GB (2x160GB, $399), 500GB (2x250GB, $599), and 800GB (2x400GB, $1,199). Of note to potential buyers, FireWire Depotis G-RAID products are a good bit more expensive than FireWire Directis similar Pro Z-RAID solutions.

G-Drive is a single drive enclosure available with FireWire 400/800, FireWire 400/USB 2.0, or USB 2.0 connectivity. They are available in capacities of 160GB, 250GB, and 400GB, with prices starting at $149 for the 160GB USB 2.0 model and ranging up to $559 for the 400GB FireWire 400/800 version.

Lastly, the G-Drive Mini, not yet featured on FireWire Depotis site, is a 2.5-inch external FireWire solution that will start shipping in March. The drive will be available in 60GB, 80GB, and 100GB capacities, with FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB 2.0 ports. More details will be released two weeks before the G-Drive mini ships.
