Guess The Dictator Or TV Sit-Com Character!

So youire sitting around with little or nothing to do, and you say to yourself "I wonder if someone could make a computer program that could figure out which TV character or dictator I am thinking about?" Never fear, because the answer to that all-too-common question is a resounding "Yes!" Appropriately enough, you can find it at a site called "Guess the Dictator or Television Sit-Com Character" by Smalltime Games.

This site is a clever database-driven server side app that figures out which TV character or dictator you are pretending to be. It works by asking you a series of yes or no questions designed to help the software narrow down the field of TV character and dictators until it thinks it knows which one is you. The program "learns" as it goes by filing away your answers whenever it canit guess who you are. If it guesses wrong, it then asks you to provide an appropriate question to help it out next time, thereby becoming all that much "smarter." Also, despite the name, the site is not limited to sit-coms and seems to have grown to include all of TV and movies as well. For instance, when we chose the character Spike from "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," it took some 18 questions to guess the answer:

Well, I win this round. You are player number 53 to pick Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and what a clever choice it was! You almost had me for a while, but you let your guard down. Donit worry, it happens to all of us sooner or later. Please play again, and next time Iill be ready for you, Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In earlier visits to the site, we beat the system Hazel from the 1950s sit-com "Hazel." Every other single character or dictator we have chosen was guessed at properly! Go ahead and try it for yourself; itis definitely a Cool Waste of Time.

If you have a Cool Waste Of Time, let us know.
