HP Adds Designjet To Their Family Of OS X Drivers

Hewlett-Packard has announced the availability of OS X drivers for their Designjet line of printers. Adding to their already impressive line-up of early OS X compatibility, the Designjet series of drivers allow users to run Designjet printers natively under either OS 9 or OS X. According to HP:

In a move to allow HP Designjet customers to leverage the newest Macintosh operating system, Hewlett-Packard Company today announced the availability of Designjet drivers to support Mac OS X. The latest HP printer driver release demonstrates HPis strong partnership with Apple to deliver uncompromised large-format printing for those in Mac environments. The announcement supplements HPis Mac OS X driver support for its Deskjet and LaserJet printers.

HPis support of the new operating system means that graphics and technical professionals can enjoy the new operating systemis flexible user interface and innovative features while maximizing large-format printing capabilities. HPis drivers allow Mac OS X to run in two different modes that support its own applications, as well as those created for Mac OS 9, to provide maximum performance and backwards compatibility. Additionally, HP expects to create international versions of drivers, localized in many languages.

Available now, HPis Mac printing solutions support the following HP Designjet printers:

  • HP Designjet 2500CP
  • HP Designjet 3500CP
  • HP Designjet 1050C (with PS upgrade)
  • HP Designjet 1055CM
  • HP Designjet 800PS
  • HP Designjet 5000PS
