Intego to Ship Personal Backup X4, VirusBarrier X4 in Q4

Intego on Tuesday introduced Personal Backup X4 and VirusBarrier X4. New features found in the former include the ability to back up data to multiple CDs or DVDs, a revised interface, AES 128 encryption for archives, the ability to view and edit backup scripts, a Widget that displays backup status for Tiger users and more.

Intego will ship Personal Backup X4 in the fourth quarter. The full version will sell for US$69.96 while upgrades will be $44.95. Mac OS X v10.2.8 and 40MB free hard drive space are required.

New features found in VirusBarrier X4 include a redesigned interface, the ability to analyze e-mails that are sent and received, a Widget for Tiger users, heuristic and behavioral analyses, a Trojan activity sensor that detects the creation of new files by a virus, the ability to scan compressed files whether or not the user has StuffIt Expander and more.

VirusBarrier X4 will also ship during the fourth quarter. Pricing and system requirements are the same as the ones listed for Personal Backup X4.
