Intel Set to Announce New Chips

Intel is expected to announce several new processors at its twice a year Developers Forum on Tuesday. According to Reuters, Intel is likely to show off upcoming products for laptops, desktops, and business machines that use less energy and provide more processing power.

Some analysts are predicting that new processors aimed at running servers will be highlighted, since Intelis head of enterprise business, Pat Gelsinger, is giving the keynote presentation. Along with the Core Duo processor, new enterprise level chips could be candidates for an upgraded Xserve product.

Intelis Developer Forum is a twice a year event where the chip maker discusses its technology roadmap with developers and product designers. The forum is being held in San Francisco, and runs from Tuesday, March 7 through Friday, March 10.
