Sustainable Softworks has released an update for IPNetRouter, bringing it to version 1.6.2. IPNetRouter is an Internet sharing and routing app designed for Web developers. The new version has several performance enhancements including an expanded filter table size and greater security when used with IPNetSentry. According to Sustainable Softworks:
Sustainable Softworks has released version 1.6.2 of IPNetRouter, its Eddy-award winning Internet sharing software, adding enhancements that improve performance when run in conjunction with IPNetSentry firewall software and adding an important tool for developers.
The version of IPNetRouter increases the aged filter table size to 2000 entries from 250. Users taking advantage of the program’s firewall capability can add and monitor more permanent filters thus increasing the network’s level of security. The feature requires the new v2.1.7 OTModl$Proxy extension, which is automatically installed with the update.
Version 1.6.2 also adds a button which permits users who also run IPNetSentry to Turn Off and Turn On IPNetSentry directly from the IPNetRouter Filter Window. This enhancement makes it easier for users to edit permanent filters without having the clutter of dozens, even hundreds, of Aged Filters which may have been invoked by IPNetSentry intrusion detection capabilities.
