Iomega announced the immediate availability of two new external hard drives for Mac users on Wednesday. The UltraMax Desktop Drive and the Black Portable Hard Drive both come pre-formatted as HFS+ for the Mac instead of using a Microsoft Windows formatting scheme, and include Retrospect Express backup software.

It connects to your Mac via FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB 2.0, includes a built-in USB hub, and comes with cables for each interface. The UltraMax is priced at US$499.95.
