It Is Pixelpalooza Time Again!

Iconfactory has announced that their annual Pixelpalooza contest is underway, and they have begun to accept submissions. Pixelpalooza allows icon artists a chance to show off their stuff in a variety of categories, with the winners taking home great prizes. According to Iconfactory:

The webis premiere source for freeware Mac icons, The Iconfactory is proud to announce that its 5th annual icon design contest, Pixelpalooza has begun and is now accepting submissions.

Pixelpalooza offers aspiring icon artists an opportunity to strut their stuff both for the Macintosh platform and for the icon community at large. Last yearis contest garnered over 126 entries from around the world and awarded prizes in three categories - 2D, 3D and System Replacement. This year, weive added a new, fourth category - OSX. Now icon designers will have a chance to push the envelope of icon creation for Mac OS X and show the world just what is possible in a 128x128 pixel grid.

The contest runs from December 1st, 2000 until February 1st. with winners announced on Valentineis Day. This yearis contest is made possible by the generous donations of Aladdin Systems, Font Diner, MacAddict Magazine, Mac Surfshop, Microsoft, Panic and Power On Software.

Prizes will be awarded to Grand Prize, Runner Up and People Choice winners in each of the four entry categories. These prizes include: Stuffit Deluxe 6.0, font collections from Font Diner, cool promotional goodies from MacAddict Magazine as well as free 1 year subscriptions, Custom Pixelpalooza T-Shirts from Mac Surfshop, Microsoft Office 2001, Audion 2.0, Now Up-to-Date & Now Contact, Rewind, DiskLock, Action Utilities, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force, Apple Optical Mice, Monsoon Speakers and Iconfactory T-Shirts & collectoris pins.
