Jon's Phone Tool Updated With Expanded Dialing Support

Jonathan Nathan has released an update for Jonis Phone Tool, bringing it to version 2.0.4. Jonis Phone Tool is a utility designed for automated phone dialing. The update features expanded dialing support and menu enhancements. According to Jonathan Nathan:

Jonathan Nathan is pleased to announce that Jonis Phone Tool v2.0.4 has been released.

Jonis Phone Tool (JPT) uses a Bluetooth mobile phone, your Macis modem, or speakers to dial the phone. JPT can also make calls via Vonage, Ovolab Phlink, Parliantis PhoneValet, an Asterisk PBX server, or X-Lite by Xten Networks, Inc., a free SIP softphone for use with many VoIP services. You can enter a number manually or you can use the integrated search tools to find numbers in your Address Book, Microsoft Entourage, Now Contact, or Palm Desktop databases.

You can also search various websites and with the included contextual menu, you can even select a number just about anywhere and instantly dial it using JPT!

  • Added support for dialing through Asterisk, an open source PBX server (also see Sunrise Telephone Systems Ltd. for more information on obtaining a Mac OS X installer)
  • Added support for dialing through X-Lite by Xten Networks, Inc., a free SIP softphone for use with many VoIP services (requires X-Lite version 2.0+)
  • The Address Book Numbers menu will now create separate submenus only if there is more than one submenu selected in the preferences
  • Fixed the unresponsive editing bug when modifying the Dialing Rules
  • The recently dialed numbers and recently searched menus in the main window (10.3+ only) are now updated correctly regardless of how numbers are dialed or names are searched—finally!
  • Full name searching once again works when searching the Address Book (though it is still a bit temperamental)
  • Several interface adjustments including new buttons in the main window to toggle the dial log and notepad (as well as a new button layout) and improved menu performance
  • Updated “JPT Controller” and the example AppleScripts to reflect the new support for Asterisk & X-Lite

You can find more information about the Jonis Phone update at the product home page. Jonis Phone Tool is available for US$12.00.
