Karelia Software has released an update for Watson, bringing it to version1.5.3. Watson is a Web desktop interface designed to simplify Web browsing and bookmarking. The update features enhancements for third-party tool installation, specifically for Newsblaster, a news article aggregating app. According to Karelia Software:
Today, Karelia Software updated Watson, winner of the 2002 Apple Design Award for Most Innovative Mac OS X Product, to version 1.5.3. This minor update, free to registered users, addresses issues with installing third-party tools.
Today also marks the availability of the first third-party Watson tool, Newsblaster. This tool (contributed by Terrence Talbot) connects to the Columbia University Newsblaster service, aggregating news articles posted by various Web news services, including Yahoo, ABCNews, CNN, Reuters, the LA Times, CBS News, the CBC, the Washington Post, the BBC, Science, Nature, Lycos, and others. Categories include U.S. News, World News, Finance, Entertainment, Science/Technology, and Sports. The Newsblaster tool can be downloaded directly from within Watson 1.5.3.
You can find more information about the Watson update at the Karelia Web site. Watson 1.5.3 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$29.00.
