Kerio MailServer 6.1 Adds Tiger Support, More

Kerio Technologies Inc. on Monday introduced Kerio MailServer 6.1,, an update to its mail server software that adds support for Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger." In addition, it features synchronization with Apple Address Book and iCal as well as better integration with Entourage. Other changes include the addition of Sender Policy Framework (SPF), Spam Repellent and dual anti-virus scanning.

SPF helps with e-mail security by authenticating e-mail sendersi domains while Spam Repellent places a delay in the "handshake" with the SMTP server, which is supposed to force a mail server sending spam to give up on the connection attempt. Kerio MailServer is aimed at small-to-medium-size businesses (SMBs) and pricing starts at US$499 for 20 users. Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4, a G4 or G5 processor and 256MB RAM are required.
