LecShare Inc. on Monday released LecShare, a utility that converts PowerPoint documents into Web pages or Microsoft Word documents. It can optionally turn the presentationis table of contents into a navigational page as well as optionally include the content of the lectureris notes section in the Web pages for their corresponding slides.
In addition, LecShare can create alternative text for images, such as alt tags, and convert text items into standard text, as well as encode data tables so they meet accessibility requirements for disabled viewers. The Web pages it produces can be viewed by any browser that supports CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).
The Word documents produced by LecShare contain all of the images found in a presentation, although the files donit meet accessibility requirements.
Pricing is US$39. It works in Mac OS X, although LecShare didnit state the minimum version required, and is compatible with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2004.
