Like A Virgin: Apple Nabs Madonna's New Release In QuickTime Format

Apple and Warner Brothers have announced that Madonnais newest CD will be available from Madonnais Web site exclusively in QuickTime, a major coup for Apple. Warner Brothers and Madonnais production company, MAverick Entertainment, will making all 10 tracks available in QuickTime, including some remixes of some of the tracks. According to Apple:

In a unique Internet event that coincides with the worldwide release of Madonnais eagerly awaited new album, Warner Bros. Records, Maverick Entertainment and Apple® today announced that all ten tracks from Madonnais "Music" CD are immediately available exclusively at exclusively in Appleis QuickTime™ format. In addition, two forthcoming video remixes of the albumis first single, the title track "Music," will be available at exclusively in QuickTime.

"Madonna is very excited about the launch of her web site as it affords both direct contact with her fans as well as serving as another avenue for her creative output," said Caresse Henry, Madonnais manager.

"Appleis QuickTime is simply the worldis best format for streaming high quality audio and video over the Internet," said Philip Schiller, Appleis vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "Weire thrilled Madonna has chosen QuickTime to bring Music to the web and, like her prior work, the album is sure to be an instant smash."

In addition to the albumis tracks and the forthcoming special video remixes, features a special Deep Dish audio remix of the song "Music" for download exclusively in QuickTime.

"Music," released on Maverick/Warner Bros., is Madonnais eighth studio album and is co-produced by the artist herself and French dance sensation Mirwais, William Orbit (at the helm of her 1998 smash, the Grammy-winning "Ray of Light"), Spike Stent and Guy Sigsworth. The "Music" single is number 1 on Billboardis Hot 100 chart and is also currently charted at number 1 in fourteen other countries. Remixes of the first single "Music" to date have been done by Groove Armada, Hex Hector, Victor Calderone and Deep Dish.
