NCsoft Corporation has released a version of Lineage beta for Mac users via iDisk. This allows users the ability to play online through the Lineage world instead of on a separate test server. Lineage is an online role playing fantasy game currently in development. According to the NCsoft Corporation:
I wanted to let you know that Lineage, the massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) that recently began a public beta test, is now available to Mac users via their iDisk.
All Mac users who wish to participate will be accepted into the beta. The beta will allow players to enter into the actual Lineage world, not a separate "test server," and all beta participants will be provided with free game access for the duration of the beta period.
This will allow beta players to experience all of the elements of the most popular online game in the world. The game currently boasts more than four-million active subscriptions and 330,000 concurrent users worldwide.
To download the game to their hard drive, users can follow these instructions:
- Select "iDisk" from the Go menu from the Mac OS X Finder
- Navigate to the Mac OS X Applications folder, then navigate to the Games folder
- Drag the 385.8 MB disk image to the desktop
You can find more information about the Lineage beta test at the NCsoft Web site. A Lineage subscription is available for US$15.00 a month.
