Luxology, LLC introduced Tuesday a new 3D modeling software application for Mac OS X and Windows. Modo is an advanced polygonal and subdivision surface modeling tool that uses real-time subdivision surface and polygonal modeling capabilities.
Modo combines a highly advanced real-time subdivision surface engine, fast, flexible and extensible modeling tools, and one of the most innovative and flexible user interfaces ever created, the company said in a prepared statement. Due to the flexible nature of the modo toolset and interface, modo is excellent for creating models of any type, including organics to hard surfaces, high-resolution film models and low-resolution real-time meshes.
The software also features "Action Centers," which allow any action or transformation to be repositioned and reoriented manually or automatically. Modo also includes various falloff types to help with precision modeling.
Itis expected to ship in early September 2004 for US$895. Itis available for pre-order for $695.
