Make Your Windows Look Cool With Power Windows

Greg Landweber has released a new version of his ultra-cool interface enhancement, Power Windows. Version 2.4.4 allows users to set window characteristics so they fade out rather than zooming out, drag contents of the entire window instead of just an outline, and make OS 9 menus translucent. According to Mr. Landweber:

Power Windows is a small control panel that taps into your Macis unusedprocessor power to perform amazingly cool effects with windows and menus.Power Windows was originally conceived to let you drag the entire contentsof windows instead of just a dotted outline. It offers both solid andtranslucent window dragging, and you can even enable multitasking with soliddragging. Power Windows also has options for fading Finder windows (in placeof the zoom rectangle animation), fading menus, and as of version 2.4,translucent menus!

Version 2.4.4 is a maintenance release, fixing a conflict with the WYSIWYGfont menu in Style (a shareware text editor). There are also various minorinternal changes.

Power Windows is compatible with System 7 through Mac OS 9. It also works inthe Classic environment under Mac OS X, giving Classic applications livewindow dragging and transparent menus like Carbon and Cocoa apps have.

Power Windows is available for US$10. You can find more information< at the Mr. Landweberis web site.
