Microsoft's Ballmer: Vista Could be Delayed Again

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on Wednesday warned that Windows Vistais launch could slip from its current January 2007 target, which was pushed back from November 2006 by the company in March. According to an IDG article, the new delay could be "based on feedback from a beta release program and the product road-maps of hardware vendors." Microsoft released the second Beta of Vista yesterday.

Mr. Ballmer added: "The other thing, frankly, which we are discussing with NEC and other hardware partners is when would they really like it - early January, late January, February - so it depends on when the next roll-over, the next turn of the machine cycle will be and that would be the best time to ship it based on beta feedback."
