Missing Sync Gets Intel Support, More

Mark/Space, Inc. on Tuesday released version 2.5 of The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile, adding support for Intel processors as well as support for smartphones and Pocket PCs that run the Windows Mobile 5 OS. The latter includes support for models from Dell, HP, HTC, I-mate, Palm, Motorola, and Samsung.

This update, which is free for registered owners of version 2.0, also improves synchronization of contacts, calendar events and tasks with Appleis Address Book and iCal applications, as well as with Microsoft Entourage 2004. In addition, it includes a toolbar that provides quick access to the most used commands and a customizable, drag-and-drop install feature that recognizes certain file types, such as music, pictures and video, and puts them in the proper place on the device. Mac-friendly Windows Mobile software is also now accessible for purchase from the Shop tab in The Missing Sync.

The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile sells for US$39.95 as an electronic download or $49.95 on CD. Upgrades from older versions are $19.95. System requirements call for a G4, G5 or Intel processor, Mac OS X v10.4.7, iTunes 6.0 (for the iTunes plug-in), iPhoto 5.0 (for the iPhoto plug-in), and Entourage 2004, version 11.2.4, if syncing Entourage data. Entourage X isnit supported. Built-in Bluetooth is mandatory for Bluetooth syncing.
