New Version Of MoonMenu Released From Selznick Scientific

Selznick Scientific Software, LLC has released an update MoonMenu, bringing it to version 2.0.2. MoonMenu is a moon phase data app designed to track lunar data including moon age and lunation. The update features numerous perfomance enhancements and big fixes for both OS X and Classic. According to Selznick Scientific Software:

MoonMenu(tm) 2.0.2 offers a host of improvements and fixes for MacOS 9 and MacOS X that include phase sorting, fixes for latitude and longitude problems, and user interface improvements. For MacOS X weive added magnificent Aqua Savvy rendering for the moon in the menubar, compatibility with Appleis upcoming 10.2, and new menu items to launch the MoonMenu(tm) application.

WHATiS NEW IN 2.0.2:

9 and X:

  • The phases in the menu are now sorted chronologically
  • Moon pictures are now better synchronized with the actual phase
  • Removed "X" from Classic Window title
  • Added warning about Date & Time Settings fidelity
  • Changed Latitude and Longitude to be consistent with majority of Web sites: South and West are Negative
  • Added UI defining South & West Latitudes
  • Definitions panel now contains a styled, scrolling text box that can hold more text
  • Removed check-mark from the "Get" menu in the Settings Panel of the application
  • Fractional time zones, like 9.5, are now possible. Previously, time zone values had to be integers

X Only:

  • Dramatically improved rendering of Moon in the Menubar on MacOS X with Aqua Savvy rendering
  • A startup item is now available in the "Login" system preference
  • Menu preferences now update immediately in MacOS X
  • Phase icons in the menu are now correct for users below the equator who are also running MacOS X
  • Fixed a compatibility problem with the soon to be released MacOS X 10.2
  • Added a "Launch MoonMenu(tm) Application" menu item to the system menu
  • Be sure the most recent MoonMenu(tm) application is present in the Applications Folder under MacOS X for best results
  • Moved MoonMenu(tm) to a background only application. It can even be quit with ProcessViewer
  • Added "Upgrade" progress indicator window for the four seconds it takes to uninstall version 2.0 and 2.0.1
  • Added "Upgrade" logic to MoonMenu(tm) Application that will automatically uninstall previous versions on MacOS X
  • Added warning about low antialiasing of text threshold
