Northern Softworks Updates Lights Out With Powerbook Support And More

Northern Softworks has released an update for Lights Out, bringing it to version 2.1.1. Lights Out is an energy saver utility designed for expanding Jaguar sleep control. The update features several enhanceements including configurable Energy Saver settings. According to Northern Softworks:

Northern Softworks today announced the release of version 2.2 of Lights Out, its new Energy Saver utility for Jaguar.

Lights Out is an application designed to give users more control over Appleis Energy Saver. It helps solve the problem of Energy Saver insomnia. Many scanners and other peripherals interfere with the Macis normal sleeping patterns. Lights Out offers a secondary idle timer to put your Mac to sleep even when Energy Saver fails to do so. The application also offers hot corners to instantly put your Mac to sleep, or keep your Mac awake.

Whatis New in Lights Out?

This release adds the ability to customize Energy Saver settings for individual applications. If configured, sleep settings are
automatically adjusted depending on the active application. This can be useful for long downloads, iTunes streams, cd or dvd playback, etc.

This release offers improved user feedback. The Dock icon now provides visual indication of the applications status. Dock menus are available to provide manual control of Lights Outis features.

This release adds full support for powerbooks.
