There are lots of great articles, and some really bad ones, on the Internet. Though we link to all of them at MacOS News Around The Web, some of them deserve special mention here. Most of what we will mention within these pages will be among the best, but on occasion we will talk about articles that are so bad or so wrong we just have to say something. Consider them mini-editorials on our part about things we think you might also be interested in.

Best [2:00 PM] San Diego TImes - MacOS X-cellent
Even those that donit "like" what Apple is doing with Mac OS X have to be impressed with the systemis robustness and stability. These features are apparently appealing to developers as well, as some think OS X may become THE dominant computer operating system. Here is an article that presents some arguments, from a developeris standpoint, on why this might be so. Our favorite quote from this piece:

Finally, in case you haven?t noticed, for a Web developer, the Macintosh is a more important environment than Windows; your creative team is probably 80 percent or more Mac-based. By unifying your entire Web development staff with a single operating system, endless opportunities for increased efficiency present themselves.

This is one of the more interesting perspectives on the latest OS. Reviewer - Kyle DiAddario

Best [2:00 PM] MacMilitia - Whoa! Itis almost Christmas! Here come the gadgets...
Yes, here we are on the eve of Halloween, and The Mac Observer has succombed to the holiday shopping season pressure. The end of the year holidays are less than two months away, and it might actually be time to start thinking about gifts for the computer users on your list. MacMilitia thinks so, anyway. Our favorite quote from this piece:

Itis coming -- the Christmas buying season. If youire planning on buying some technology, donit wait, because itis likely that a bunch of other people want to buy the same stuff and will buy it first if youire not careful. Happy shopping!

For the record, we had our first snow of the year in Upstate New York yesterday. Ugh. Reviewer - Kyle DiAddario
