Open Door Networks Inc. has announced that version 1.0 of its firewall utility DoorStop X is now shipping. Available as a Beta before now, the software provides users of Mac OS X v10.3 or higher more robust security features than those found in the OS, including logging of allowed and denied access attempts, the ability to allow or deny access on a service-by-service basis, optional blocking and logging of low-level UDP access attempts and more.
Through Aug. 15, pricing is US$39, or $59 when purchased with Open Dooris Whois There? Firewall Advisor, which displays access attempts in real-time and helps users understand whois trying to access their computers. Discounts for educational, volume and site licenses are also available. Open Door did not indicate what the pricing will be after Aug. 15.
