PDF2Office Gains Universal Binary, More

Recosoft Corp. on Thursday announced the September release of version 3.0 of its PDF-to-Microsoft-Word converter PDF2Office Personal, adding Universal Binary support as well as other new features. PDF2Office Personal is also now based on a client-server architecture that insulates Microsoft Word from the conversion process.

In addition, the new version of the software offers static form editing, a new font matching, substitution, and scaling mechanism, the ability to convert password-protected PDFs, and enhancements in table identification and reconstruction, graphics processing, and PDFs with complex layouts.

Upgrades from PDF2Office Personal 2.0 are free for those who bought it on or after Aug. 1, 2006, while all others will need to pay US$29. The full version of the software is $59. System requirements were not announced.
