Pixelpalooza Icon Contest Accepting Submissions

The Iconfactory has announced the 7th annual Pixelpalooza contest is now accepting entries. The contest pits designers from around the world in a competition to see who creates the best icon. This years contest adds a CandyBar category for switching software. According to The Iconfactory:

The Iconfactory is excited to announce the commencement of the 7th installment of Pixelpalooza, our annual icon design contest. Every year we invite the Macintosh icon design community to pull out all the stops and send us their pixelated creations. Last yearis event drew over 140 entries from all over the world and was unquestionably our most successful contest to date.

For this years event we have combined the Illustrative and 3D categories into a single category called Classic, for those of you who still enjoy the challenge of working on a 32x32 pixel canvas. The OS X category was by far the most popular last year so it returns again this year unaltered. And new this year is the CandyBar category which should prove to be very popular based on the success of our icon switching software product.
