R epair gurus MacResQ have started offering a flat rate LCD replacement service as part of its PowerBookResQ repair program. The new program provides PowerBook and iBook owners with a simple way to fix their display.
The flat-rate price includes a box that is sent overnight to the customer with return overnight postage paid, as well as overnight service for shipping the PowerBook back to the customer. PowerBookResQ says the LCD replacement will be performed within 24 hours of receipt of the damaged laptop.
"In response to a changing market, we have developed a new LCD screen repair program that offers our customers complete assurance of the repair quote and turn-around time. We have been offering 24-Hour PowerBook repair services for years, and we have repaired thousands of PowerBooks and iBooks. This premier service is the next evolution in our line of repair programs and will include a new LCD, not a used or refurbished LCD as other companies are installing," said Ryan Arter, President of MacResQ in the press release.
Prices start at $399 for 12-inch iBook screen and range up to $949 for a 17-inch PowerBook LCD replacement. The prices are more or less in line with what TechRestore charges for a similar service that firm recently launched.
