Developers continue to release updates that bring Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" compatibility to their software. The latest ones are Prosoft Engineering, which has upgraded three of its Mac OS utilities; OnMadeSoft, which has released a new version of its cell phone contact synchronization application OnSync; Inventive, Inc., which updated its digital video organizer iClip; and Xeric Design, which updated three of its utilities.
Prosoft Engineering has published Drive Genius 1.1.1, Data Rescue 10.4.3 and Picture Rescue 1.1. Drive Genius also includes a change that eliminates the need for a serial number when running the software from a bootable CD, as long as itis installed on any drive connected to the computer. Theyire free updates for existing users.
OnMadeSoftis OnSync 1.9 also includes compatibility with Palm Desktop, support for more LG and Samsung phones, bug fixes and various performance improvements. This is a free update for existing users; the full software is US$12.
In addition to releasing iClip 3.5.4, Inventive also announced that it will soon produce iClip lite, a widget for Dashboard that enables users to store and retrieve video clips in Dashboard, without having to open iClip. It will be free, as is this iClip update. The full software is $29.95 and requires Mac OS X v10.2 or higher.
Xeric included bug fixes in addition to Tiger compatibility in the dynamic desktop map EarthDesk 3.0.1, the international clock Time Palette 5.7.4 and the Islamic calendar and prayer time calculator MacQibla 3.0.4. Theyire free for current users while those who own the previous versions can upgrade for $9.95 for EarthDesk or MacQibla and $14.95 for Time Palette. Full versions of the first two are $19.95 each -- they require Mac OS X v10.2 or higher -- while the full version of Time Palette, which requires Mac OS X v10.1 or higher, is $29.95.
