Public Access Updates Installer-Maker

Public Access Software has released an update for MacInstall to version 1.3.1. MacInstall is a software installer-maker. The new version includes new features and other enhancements. According to Public Access Software:

Public Access Software is pleased to release MacInstall 1.3.1, a solid and stable release of the Mac ShareWare software installer compatible with any Macintosh running System 7.5 to Mac OS X 10.1. MacInstall is ShareWare software with many commercial-level features.

MacInstall includes a proprietary compression scheme based on open source standards including MacBinary III and the zlib compression library that compacts files and folders with up to 66% space savings in some cases. MacInstall also features conditional installations based on computer environment and Actions to carry out specific tasks prior to or to enhance the installation process.

MacInstall 1.3.1 changes include:

  • Added Mac OS 9.2.1 to System version pop-up menus.
  • MacInstall Editor once again appropriately displays Installer items that have Actions associated with them.
  • MacInstall Editor will now set its window titles to reflect the actual name of the item opened, either an application package or application file instead of always using the installer applicationis name.
  • Increased default memory settings for installer applications to help avoid internal MacInstall Compression out-of-memory situations that could result in incomplete installations.
