Safari, Firefox Market Share Dropped in January

After a year of steady climbing, Safariis market share dipped slightly in January. Appleis Web browser ended the month with a 3 percent market share, barely down from December 2005is 3.07 percent. According to statistics from Market Share, Firefox dipped slightly from Decemberis 9.59 percent, ending up at 9.5. Microsoftis Internet Explorer gained for the first time in months, inching up from 85.05 percent to 85.31.

The statistical change is small enough that each of the browsers essentially held its own for the month.
