SoftRAID 3.1 Adds Support for Bootable Software RAID

SoftRAID has released a new version of its self-titled software RAID package, SoftRAID, bringing the product to version 3.1. SoftRAID 3.1is main new feature is the ability to boot from a software RAID set up controlled by the software. From the company:

"Bootable SoftRAID Mirror volumes are what everyone needs, especially Server Administrators," notes Tim Standing, VP of Engineering. "SoftRAID provides reliable, instantaneous backup of critical data with data access as fast as that on a Stripe volume. Now with your system on a SoftRAID Mirror volume, you can have maximum flexibility and protection in your backup scenarios."

SoftRAIDís error notification and easy-to-use interface make the creation and maintenance of RAID volumes effortless. SoftRAID 3.1 is designed to have all the features and protections that a professional server administrator or video professional needs while being understandable enough for the home user.
