Sonnet Technologies has introduced its portable, 2 drive, RAID SATA storage system. The cool and quiet enclosure employs two 320 GB, 5,400 RPM 2.5 inch mobile drives that balance speed, power consumption, and reliability. In RAID 0 configuration (stripped), the drives can deliver a sustained 126 MB/sec and the unit is designed for video professionals who require high speed data transfers for video.
"The systemis two drives are mounted side-by-side in a rugged aluminum enclosure, ensuring secure storage in a low-profile design measuring just 5.9 inches by 6.2 inches by 0.72 inches. Internally, Fusion F2is drives are individually shock-isolated, virtually eliminating cross-coupled vibration, which, unchecked, can induce soft errors ? a potential source of skipped frames.
