Spamfire Updated With CAN-SPAM Provisions And New Reporting Features

Matterform has released an update for Spamfire, bringing it to version 1.5. Spamfire is a spam filtering app designed for the prevention of unwanted solicitous and pornographic email. The update features support for CAN-SPAM provisions and the inclusion of the SpamCrime Reporter. According to Spamfire:

Matterform Media, a leading provider of anti-spam software, today announced the release its spam-fighting solution, Spamfire 1.5.

Spamfire is an anti-spam email filter. Deletes unwanted commercial and pornographic email. Works with any email program.

The new version takes advantage of the provisions of the CAN-SPAM Act, the recently passed federal anti-spam legislation that requires senders of unsolicited commercial messages to provide a way to unsubscribe from their e-mail lists and makes it a crime to continue sending unwanted messages. Spamfire 1.5 automates the process of unsubscribing from bulk e-mail lists and collects evidence that can be used to prosecute repeat offenders.

Spamfire 1.5 comes with a new companion program called SpamCrime Reporter that works with Matterform&Mac226;s SpamCrime service to gather proof of repeat spamming for prosecution under the CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing) Act of 2003.

You can find more information about the Spamfire update at the Matterform Web site. Spamfire 1.5 is free for registered users, while the full version is available starting at US$29.00.
