Black Cat Systems has released an update for MultiMode, bringing it to version 3.9.6. MultiMode is a decoding app designed to let ham radio operators and amateur radio enthusiasts use their Macs in pursuit of their hobby. The new version has improvements in FAX mode and access to a database of over 10,000 airplane identifiers in ACARS mode. According to Black Cat Systems:

MultiMode is an application which allows your Macintosh to decode and transmit several different modes of non-voice communication often heard on shortwave and ham radio. It is the only program of its kind for the Macintosh,rivaling commercial packages for the PC platform costing hundreds of dollars. It is ideal for amateur radio operators, shortwave radio listeners, and other radio enthusiasts. MultiMode is localized for for Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, in addition to English.

The latest version of MultiMode adds improvements to FAX mode grayscale display, fixes a bug in FAX mode that could cause a crash, as well as updates access to a database of over 10,000 airplane identifiers to ACARSmode.
