Toon Boom Animation on Thursday released Toon Boom Studio Express 3, a new version of its beginner level animation software. This upgrade features a new text tool that enables users to more easily animate text, in addition to a transform tool for scaling, rotating, moving or skewing any object over time.
Performance improvements are also included. This is a US$29.99 upgrade for owners of previous versions of the software. The full version is $69.99 for a limited time; after the special pricing ends, it will be $99.99.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3, a G4 or G5 processor, 256MB RAM (512MB recommended), 100MB free hard drive space and 8MB Video RAM (64MB recommended). Toon Boom also recommends the use of a Wacom tablet.
