Top Flight RPG, Avernum, Updated

Spiderweb Software has updated their ultra-cool, old style Role Playing Game (RPG), Avernum 2, to version 1.0.1. Avernum 2 reminds users of the old days of Ultima, and allows users to explore a visually rich world while battling the typical array of baddies. According to Spiderweb Software:

Avernum 2, our new, old-school fantasy rpg for the Macintosh, has beenupgraded to v1.0.1. A patch is also available. The update fixes a smallnumber of irritating (but not devastating) problems.

Avernum is a prison. It is an enormous warren of tunnels and caverns, farbelow the surface world. You were banished there by the cruel Empire, tospend the rest of your life in the underworld. However, what little safetyand peace you had found there was short-lived. Your home has been invaded byoverpowering forces. It falls to you to find help for your people and fendoff the invaders. If you fail, your home and everyone in it are doomed.

Avernum 2 is an old-school fantasy role-playing game, designed for anyonewho wants a huge game with a fascinating plot and longs for the good olddays of Ultima and Wizardry. It features beautiful 3-D, 16-bit graphics,including drawings by well-known fantasy illustrator Phil Foglio, a massivestoryline with three different game-winning quests (complete one or two ofthem, or even all three), and addicting gameplay.
