Trans International announced the immediate availability of 500GB versions of its miniXpress hard drives on Tuesday. The portable hard drive is bus powered, spins at 5400RPM, and includes an 8MB cache.

The miniXpress is available in three triple interface configurations: FireWire 400, FireWire 800, and USB 2.0; SATA, USB 2.0, and FireWire 400; and SATA, USB 2.0, and FireWire 800. The 500GB drive is available at the Trans International Web site and is priced starting at US$289.
