Two Belkin iPod Products Get 'Innovation Distinction'

Belkin Corporation has been honored by the Consumer Electronics Association with seven iInnovations Distinctioni awards, two for the design and manufacturing of the TuneBase FM for the iPod mini and the Digital Camera Link for the iPod.

The TuneBase is a iPod mini adapter that allows for wireless use in the car. Taking power from a cigarette ligher, the long-necked device connects to the mini and features an LCD display with backlight. It transmits audio to a car stereo on multiple FM channels from 88.1MHz to 107.9MHz. Not yet available, the TuneBase retails for US$79.99.

The Digital Camera Link allows users to connect a USB-equipped digital camera to an Apple iPod and transfer images to its internal hard drive. It retails for $79.99.

The other products acknowledged as Innovations Honorees are the Wireless Pre-N Router, PureAV Home Theater Power Conditioner PF30, PureAV Home Theater Power Console PF60, PureAV RemoteTV, and MediaPilo.

The Innovations Awards highlight product advancements in technology design and engineering. All entries were judged by an independent panel of journalists, designers, and engineers.

Winning entries will be showcased at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2005. All products will also be on display at the Belkin booths, #30847 South Hall and #7818 Central Hall.
