Users Complain About Intel iMac Front Row Problems

Owners of new 20-inch Intel iMacs have reported numerous problems with the Front Row suite, according to a blog devoted to the issue. It apparently affects computers with 256MB of Video RAM and build 8G1171 of Mac OS X v10.4.4, causing "video tearing" and other anomalies when accessing audio or video through Front Row.

However, viewing or listening to media through their respective applications, such as iTunes or Apple DVD Player, doesnit cause the issues to surface, leading many to assume it is a software problem. The blog mentioned in the previous paragraph has links to several discussions on Appleis support forms about the issue.

According to Macworld UK, Apple has so far only said that it is aware of the problem and is looking into it. The company advises users to contact AppleCare if they experience it.
