Utility Allows PDF Files To Run Automatically

J2S Software has released a new version of the automated PDF handling application, PDF StartUp. Version 2.0 allows content creators to designate PDF files on a CD to run automatically, thus allowing full use of PDF for creating dynamic presentations. According to J2S:

J2S, a software company specialized in multimedia and asset-management developments, announces the release of PDF StartUp 2.0.

PDF StartUp is an "autorun" application designed to automatically open a PDF document located on a CD-Rom when it is inserted into a computer, after having installed Acrobat Reader when needed. PDF StartUp first checks the presence of Acrobat and installs Acrobat Reader when necessary. The selected PDF document is then automatically displayed on screen.

Among other improvements, the new version can be used to display a startup screen, make sure the "Search" plug-in is installed, and it now supports 9 languages...

PDF StartUp consists of two versions so that it can work indifferently on computers running MacOS or Windows.

This program is intended to invite the recipients of multimedia operations to actually read the content of the documents that are addressed to them.

PDF StartUp is available for US$550. You can find more information at the J2S Software web site.
